DAY 01Arrive via Bagdogra or NJP · Phuentsholing
Meet your driver at Bagdogra Airport or NJP railway station for the road journey to Phuentsholing. Settle into the border town, with an evening at leisure after arrival.
DAY 02Entry formalities · Road to Thimphu
Complete the required entry formalities with assistance, then continue towards Thimphu. The route lists stops at Dam and Dantak viewpoints and Milarepa Lhakhang, subject to access and the day’s road conditions.
DAY 03Thimphu · Culture and city life
Explore the Folk Heritage Museum, Motithang Takin Preserve, Buddha Dordenma and the Institute for Zorig Chusum. The listed programme also visits the Postal Museum and Simply Bhutan, subject to their opening schedule. National Memorial Chorten, the National Library, Changangkha Lhakhang and Clock Tower Square complete the city programme. The guide will coordinate site order around opening and your pace.
DAY 04Dochula · Punakha
Travel through Dochula towards Punakha. The programme includes Punakha Dzong, Chhimi Lhakhang and the suspension bridge, with mountain views dependent on weather and site visits subject to access.
DAY 05Punakha · Lamperi · Paro
Leave Punakha for Paro, with the Royal Botanical Park at Lamperi and the Chime Lhakhang temple stop listed en route. Temple visits are coordinated to avoid unnecessary repetition and fit opening times.
DAY 06Paro · Heritage and valley views
Explore Paro’s Ta Dzong National Museum, Rinpung Dzong and Kyichu Lhakhang, with an airport viewpoint stop. Your guide coordinates visits around site opening and access.
DAY 07Paro · Chele La or Tiger’s Nest
Choose the listed Chele La excursion or the Tiger’s Nest walking alternative for this day. These are alternatives, not two included excursions on one day. Discuss weather, fitness, route access and any trek / admission costs before confirming your choice. Return to Paro for the night.
- Tiger’s Nest is the alternative to Chele La, not an additional included outing.
DAY 08Paro · Phuentsholing · Gorumara
Return through Phuentsholing and cross into India for the Gorumara chapter. Check into your stay after the road journey and leave the evening at leisure.
DAY 09Gorumara · Depart via Bagdogra or NJP
An early Gorumara jeep safari may be arranged at additional cost, subject to park opening and availability. After breakfast, transfer to Bagdogra Airport or NJP railway station for your onward journey.

All routes are quoted for your dates after a current availability check. Your advisor will confirm entry requirements, permits, applicable levies, site tickets and room details before booking. Mountain roads, weather and monument opening can affect the sequence. Dress respectfully at religious sites and follow local photography guidance. Road-entry journeys include overnight stays at the Bhutan border town of Phuentsholing and in India at Gorumara as shown. The guide service covers Bhutan only. Optional Gorumara safari, park / forest entry and local guide fees are separate; operations are subject to park opening and availability.
